Nicole R. Cassata brings valuable experience as a Hudson County assistant prosecutor to her litigation practice. Her practice focuses on representing clients in appeals and insurance defense, with an emphasis on Forthright Arbitration Forum personal injury protection (PIP) arbitrations. Since joining Chasan Lamparello Mallon & Cappuzzo, PC, in 2004, she has also successfully tried auto negligence cases in Hudson and Essex counties.
Before joining the firm, Nicole was an assistant prosecutor with the Hudson County Prosecutors Office. As an assistant prosecutor, Nicole successfully argued matters before the New Jersey Appellate Division involving excess sentences and retroactivity. Prior to her work as a prosecutor, she served as a law clerk to Hon. Carmen Messano, Superior Court, Civil Division, Hudson County Vicinage.
Presently, Nicole serves as the Chair to the PIP Committee for the New Jersey Defense Association (NJDA). Nicole also served as a member of the Forthright Advisory Council. As a member of the Council, Nicole helped to assist Forthright in connection with selection of Dispute Resolution Professionals (“DRP”) and advises Forthright on development or revision of rules governing the dispute resolution process. Additionally, Nicole has also lectured for NJICLE and the Hudson County Bar Association on all areas of the PIP Defense Practice.
From 2010 to 2012, Nicole was named to the Rising Stars® list published by Key Professional Media, Inc. and reported by New Jersey Monthly Magazine in the category of Insurance Coverage.
