Raymond J. Seigler Represents 13-Year-Old Victim of Racist and Sexist Harassment

July 30, 2021

Raymond J. Seigler is representing an East Brook Middle School student in her suit against the Paramus School Board and her bully. The student, the only Black child in her class, was subjected to repeated racist and sexist harassment that the School was aware of but failed to stop. The harassment included heinous racial slurs, slander designed to ostracize the student, and threats of violence. As a result, the student’s mental health declined. She no longer wanted to attend school and suffered from stress-related injuries, eventually receiving psychological counseling after threatening to harm herself. Her parents considered leaving the country.

Raymond gave the following statement to NorthJersey.com: “The Paramus School system cannot tolerate the harassment and discrimination of a young Black girl and take away her innocence and expect nobody to stand with her. We stand with this amazing girl and her family and we will continue to stand with them.”
