Ellen L. Camburn is a civil litigation attorney practicing in the areas of insurance defense and coverage, representing insurance companies and their clients in tort-based liability matters. Ellen also practices all facets of family law including divorce, child support and custody, and domestic violence matters. Before joining our Firm, Ellen’s practice included family law, criminal law, commercial litigation, and personal injury litigation.
As an active member in the legal community, Ellen is a Trustee of the North Hudson Lawyer’s Club and a member of the New Jersey State Bar, Hudson County Bar Association, and the New Jersey Defense Association where she co-chairs the Philanthropy Committee. The NJDA named her its Young Lawyer of the Year in 2024.
In 2010, Ellen obtained an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Women’s & Gender Studies magna cum laude from Rutgers University at New Brunswick.
Ellen then obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden in 2013, where she was the submissions editor of the Rutgers Journal of Law & Public Policy, on the board of the Women’s Law Caucus, and a Hunter Moot Court Oral Argument Competition semi-finalist.
In the Spring of 2013, Ellen was awarded the National Association of Women Lawyers Award. This award recognizes a law student in the graduating class who demonstrated academic achievement, contributed to the advancement of women in society, and promoted issues and concerns of women in the legal profession. Also in the spring of 2013, Ellen was published in the Rutgers Journal of Law & Public Policy with her work, “Doctor-Patient-State Relationship: The Problem with Informed Consent and State Mandated Ultrasounds Prior to Abortions.”
After being admitted to practice law in New Jersey, Ellen served as a Law Clerk to the Hon. Adam E. Jacobs, Superior Court of New Jersey, Criminal Division.
