Meet Monica Y. Borsella

Monica Borsella is a litigation attorney developing her practice in land use, zoning, and redevelopment matters. She brings a strong foundation in legal research, motion practice, advocacy, and dispute resolution to her work on behalf of clients.

Prior to joining Chasan Lamparello Mallon & Cappuzzo, PC, Monica served as a law clerk to Assignment Judge Francis R. Hodgson Jr. of the Ocean County Superior Court. During her clerkship, she conducted research and analysis on upcoming motions and trials, facilitated landlord/tenant mediations, and argued motions through the court’s Oral Argument Program. These experiences provided Monica with hands on exposure to courtroom proceedings and the practical application of New Jersey law.

During law school, Monica gained additional advocacy experience through the Veterans Law Clinic, where she represented clients at hearings before Veterans Law Judges and wrote appellate briefs on behalf of clients to appeal their disability ratings. Monica also participated in the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program where she engaged in a simulated jury trial: conducting direct and cross-examinations, introducing evidence, and providing an opening and closing statement.

During her time at the University of Maryland, Monica was a Student-Athlete, as well as a Teaching Assistant. Monica also sang the National Anthem for the Men’s Basketball Team and was involved in the philanthropic community; she prioritized both academics as well as extracurricular involvement. Monica is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
