Cheyne Scott Presents Seminar on COVID-19 and Employment Law

On August 13, 2020, Cheyne R. Scott presented a seminar for the Hudson County Bar Association about COVID-19 and employment law. The seminar focused on government programs, such as First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), available to help employers avoid layoffs and furloughs as well as protections for employees in various situations. They also discussed generally applicable employee-protection laws, particularly national origin and disability discrimination laws, and how they are applicable to employees who have been or are thought to have been exposed to coronavirus.
