We are pleased to announce that James A. Lewis, V recently returned to CLMC as a Partner. James began his legal career as an associate with CLMC. He left the Firm to the inaugural law clerk for the Hon. Michael A. Shipp, U.S. District Court Judge, District of New Jersey clerk to the Hon. Michael A. Shipp, U.S.D.J. from 2012 to 2013. James will continue to provide counsel to municipal, corporate and private clients in complex litigation matters in NJ and NY federal and state courts.
Named as a Diversity Fellow by the American Bar Association, Lewis co-chairs the New Jersey State Bar Association’s (NJSBA) Diversity Committee along with firm partner Maria P. Vallejo, a commercial litigator and land use attorney. Lewis is a member of NJSBA Board of Trustees and is slated to chair the organization’s Minorities in the Profession Section. Lewis was recently appointed as a founding member of the NJSBA’s Commission on Racial Equity in the Law, an initiative designed to break down the barriers of systemic bias and discrimination in New Jersey’s justice system and the legal profession. He also serves as treasurer of the Garden State Bar Association and was appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to serve on the District Ethics Committee and Committee on Jury Selection in Civil and Criminal Trials.
