Thomas Zuppa, Jr. is a civil litigation attorney practicing in the areas of insurance defense and coverage and civil litigation, representing public and private clients in liability matters.
Prior to joining Chasan Lamparello Mallon & Cappuzzo, PC, Tom served as an Assistant Prosecutor at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, where he successfully prosecuted numerous high profile cases, including homicides, firearm and narcotics trafficking, complex financial crimes, and public corruption.
In 2009, Tom was awarded a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Fordham University, where he majored in Political Science with a minor in American Catholic Studies. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, Alpha Sigma Nu National Jesuit Honor Society, and Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society.
Tom obtained his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2012, where he served as President of the Student Bar Association and was awarded the Mary K. Franzese Humanitarian Award for Service and Leadership and the Hazard Zet Forward Leadership Award. Following graduation, Tom clerked for the Honorable Peter J. Vazquez, J.S.C., ret., presiding judge of the Criminal Division in Essex County.
As a leader in the legal community, Tom serves on the New Jersey State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Executive Committee and the Hudson County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Executive Committee. Tom has represented New Jersey attorneys as a delegate to the American Bar Association Mid-Year Meetings in Chicago and San Diego, where he has twice been a speaker. Tom also served as a panelist at the New Jersey Bar Association Annual Meeting and Convention.
Tom is also a member of the Seton Hall Law School Alumni Council and is a mentor for the Pipeline Leadership Program at Union City High School.
