Drawing on more than 50 years of diverse criminal and civil trial experience, Steven Menaker maintains an active litigation practice in the State and Federal Courts focusing on the prosecution and defense of professional (medical, legal, engineering and architectural) malpractice, construction, business, commercial and employment law claims.

Steven’s extensive legal portfolio includes 7 years of service as an Assistant District Attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of Kings County (Brooklyn, New York) where he served as a trial assistant in the Homicide and Narcotics Bureaus and as the deputy chief of the Criminal Courts and Investigation Bureaus. Steven began his New Jersey practice as a partner in a small New Jersey firm before joining Chasan Lamparello Mallon & Cappuzzo, PC.

Other Professional Activities

In addition to his litigation practice, Steven has served as the President of the Hudson Inn, as Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Ethics Diversionary Committee, and as Chair of the Hudson County Bar Association Professionalism Committee. He has served as a member, Vice Chair, and Chair of the District IV Ethics Committee and as a Special Master in attorney disciplinary cases. Steven served, by appointment of the Supreme Court as a member of the Advisory Committee on Professional Ethics and was appointed in 2021 to serve as a member of the Disciplinary Review Board, the state's intermediate appellate tribunal for the statewide attorney disciplinary system.

Honors and Awards

Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Criminal Trial Attorney in 2006, 2012, and 2018.

Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney in 1999, 2005, 2011 and 2017.

Recipient, 2010 Professional Lawyer of the Year (for Hudson County) awarded by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law.
