Ron Botelho is a civil litigation attorney, focusing his practice on the representation of victims of general and professional negligence. He has responsibility for all stages of litigation, with emphasis on case screening and intake, legal research, fact investigation, motion practice, depositions, settlement negotiation, and trial preparation. He advocates each day for victims and their families who have been affected by:

  • Car, truck, bus and motorcycle accidents
  • Dangerous conditions on private, commercial and public property (Slip/Trip-and-fall)
  • Preventable medical errors by doctors, nurses and diagnosticians (Medical Malpractice)
  • Wrongful death
  • Nursing home neglect
  • Physical assaults and sexual abuse
  • Unsafe work conditions and on-the-job injuries
  • Dog bites

Ron also draws on his prior professional experience to assist towns, counties, public authorities and other governmental entities with litigation, personnel training and policy development. Before joining the firm, Ron served the public in all three branches of government, as a Family Service Worker administering public benefits to families for the County of Essex, as Chief of Staff to the Honorable John F. McKeon, New Jersey General Assembly, and as Law Clerk to the Honorable Robert L. Polifroni, Presiding Civil Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen Vicinage.

In addition, Ron represents his clients in the litigation of estate disputes, and has represented businesses before the trial courts of both New York and New Jersey in a variety of contract disputes.

In 2018, Ron was appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to a four-year term as a Member of the District VI Fee Arbitration Committee. He also volunteers his time advocating for the rights of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community as a member of the Hudson Bar Association LGBTQ+ Committee, and the New Jersey State Bar Association LGBT Rights Section.

In his free time, Ron facilitates leadership programs for fraternity men and sorority women around the country. He has been a facilitator for the North-American Intrafraternity Conference’s Futures Quest and Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute programs. In 2017-18, he was recognized as Theta Xi Fraternity’s Outstanding District Director for his work on leadership programs for undergraduate members and alumni advisors at RPI, Stevens, MIT, Lehigh and Montclair State.

Ron graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Montclair State University, where he served two terms as Student Body Vice President. He earned his law degree from Seton Hall Law School in 2011. He grew up in the City of Passaic, and currently resides with his spouse, Anthony, in Hackensack.
