Robert A. Cappuzzo is a highly respected New Jersey insurance defense attorney and experienced PIP litigation lawyer. As a member of the Forthright Advisory Council for No-Fault Disputes in New Jersey, Rob plays a key role in shaping the state’s no-fault insurance dispute process. His responsibilities include revising arbitration rules and assisting in the selection and evaluation of dispute resolution professionals who preside over personal injury protection (PIP) arbitrations.

With a track record of success that nearly doubles the industry average for no-cause arbitration wins, Rob has earned recognition as one of New Jersey’s top insurance defense litigators. He joined Chasan Lamparello Mallon & Cappuzzo, PC in 1996, became a principal in 2003, and was named co-managing partner in October 2025. Rob also serves as Chair of the firm’s PIP Department, leading a team focused on insurance coverage, liability defense, and no-fault litigation.

Rob’s clients include leading insurers such as NJM Insurance Group and Allstate Insurance Company. He provides regular in-house legal training sessions for insurance professionals, emphasizing claim handling, arbitration defense strategies, and litigation best practices.

In addition to his active litigation practice, Rob is a frequent legal educator and speaker for organizations including the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE), the New Jersey Defense Association (NJDA), the Insurance Council of New Jersey, and the New Jersey State Bar Association. He previously served as Chair of the NJDA’s Personal Injury Protection Committee (2014–2016) and continues to be a trusted voice in the field of New Jersey PIP defense law.
