David S. Scarlett is a civil litigation attorney practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, land-use and governmental law. He represents private and corporate clients, public entities and individuals.
Prior to joining Chasan Lamparello Mallon & Cappuzzo, PC, David clerked for the Honorable Patrick J. Arre, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Hudson County Vicinage. Prior to that, he served as a Legal Intern for the New Jersey Reentry Corporation and for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Homicide Division.
Before his legal career, David worked in Special Operations for the U.S. Air Force. While serving, he became qualified as a Master Instructor of the U.S. Air Force, and was an Instructor with the U.S. Air Force Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Training. During his first year in the U.S. Air Force, David was honored with the Spokane Citizen Life Saving Medal in Spokane, Wash., after he showed incredible courage by single-handedly pulling two male transients out of the bitter cold currents of the Spokane River.
David obtained his juris doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from American Public University System.
