Alexander M. Avellan is a civil litigation attorney with Chasan Lamparello Mallon & Cappuzzo, PC, focusing his practice on commercial litigation.  Alexander obtained his undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College and a juris doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. While attending Cardozo Law, Alexander served for three years as a Senator on the Student Bar Association and on the executive committee of the Latin America Law Student Association. Prior to joining Chasan Lamparello Mallon & Cappuzzo, PC,  Alexander ran for county commissioner in 2017. Following the campaign, Alexander served as the General Counsel for a prisoner reentry program and was a civil litigation associate in a general practice firm where he handled a wide range of civil litigation matters.

Alexander is a member of the Hudson County Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association,  Hispanic National Bar Association, and the Venezuelan-American Bar Association.

He also volunteers his free time with the New Jersey Coalition of Latino Pastors and Ministers, an independent, faith based nonprofit.
