CLM&C Announces Jaclyn Morgese and James Shovlin as Partners

Chasan Lamparello Mallon & Cappuzzo, PC is pleased to announce the promotion of Jaclyn M. Morgese and James B. Shovlin to Partner – effective July 1, 2026.
Jaclyn has distinguished herself through her legal acumen and commitment to the firm’s school law practice. She is a trusted advisor to boards of education across New Jersey, known for her thoughtful approach to complex governance, labor, and operational matters and for the strong relationships she has built with clients and colleagues. Her promotion reflects her leadership, resilience, and ongoing contributions to the firm. Recently elected as a Trustee of the New Jersey Association of School Attorneys, Jaclyn is recognized by her peers for her dedication to the advancement of school law and the profession. Jaclyn earned her B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College and her J.D., cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and is active in the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New Jersey Association of School Attorneys, and the Union County Bar Association.
James has built a reputation as a highly capable litigator, known for his thorough preparation, effective advocacy, and steady execution in resolving complex insurance coverage, defense, and civil litigation matters. Clients and colleagues alike value his strong work ethic and the ease with which he fosters trusted relationships. His promotion reflects his contributions to the continued strength of the firm’s litigation practice and the confidence he has earned across the firm. James earned his B.A. in Political Science from Fordham University, with a minor in Business Administration, and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. He also served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Radames Velazquez, Jr., P.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Hudson County.
