JOSE VILARIÑO
Jose
Vilarino concentrates his practice in insurance defense
litigation, PIP arbitrations, Workers’ Compensation,
real property tax appeals, municipal defense and civil
litigation. Prior to joining the firm, he served as the
Judicial Law Clerk to the Hon. Ramona A. Santiago, J.S.C.
of the Civil Division in Essex County, and worked as an
associate at a well respected Essex County law firm.
Jose graduated from the University of
Scranton in 2000, where he received a bachelor's degree,
majoring in History and Spanish, with a minor in
Philosophy. At Scranton, Jose was also a member of the
Business Leadership Honors Program at the University. He
received his juris doctor degree from Rutgers University
School of Law – Newark in 2003. Jose was a member of
the Minority Student Program at Rutgers - Newark and
served as a teaching assistant in Real Property. He was
also the coordinator of the school’s Pro Bono Program,
providing law students with pro bono externships with
various public interest entities throughout Newark,
Northern New Jersey and New York City from 2002 through
2003.
Jose was
formerly a teacher at St. Peter’s Preparatory School
where he taught history and coached soccer, wrestling
and rugby. He continues to be very involved with
athletics and alumni activities at St. Peter’s, and is
also an N.J.S.I.A.A. Wrestling official, as well as a
certified USA Rugby official.
