This is the first reported decision on this particular issue in New Jersey.

John graduated from the University of Scranton in 1988, where he received a bachelor's degree, cum laude. He received his juris doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law in 1994.

John began his career with Allstate Insurance Company in 1988. He spent five years in their claims department, gaining vast experience in a number of insurance related areas. He continued to hold his full-time position while attending law school.

In 1993, John transferred to Allstate's In-House Legal Department, initially as a paralegal and ultimately as Trial Counsel.
