Experience
Mitzy focuses her practice on employment litigation, concentrating on sexual harassment cases and Law Against Discrimination, Title VII and civil rights violations against Public entities and Police Officers, as well as criminal matters in the Superior Court of the State of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She has successfully defended civil cases on behalf of the Township of North Bergen, Paterson, Bergen and Hudson counties, and North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue, as well as won verdicts for clients charged with criminal offenses. Mitzy has also collected over $3 million on behalf of the State of New Jersey and Hudson County in bail forfeiture matters. She also serves as special housing counsel for the Township of North Bergen.
Recognized as an attorney of integrity, who prides herself on her ability to provide personalized attention to her clients, Mitzy was appointed to the District VI Ethics Committee from 2005 to 2009 by the New Jersey Supreme Court, and is frequently chosen as a guardian and counsel to potential incompetents by the State Superior Court.
Mitzy has served as the Hudson County representative to the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee and is an officer of the Hudson County Bar Association. She served as president of the Young Lawyers’ Division from 2003-2004, and was a member of the Hudson Minority Concerns Committee from 2003-2005.
Mitzy has been named among the 40 most accomplished lawyers under the age of 40 by the New Jersey Law Journal, and New Jersey Monthly Magazine recognized her as one of its Rising Stars six years in a row. Rising Stars are nominated for the honor by the magazine’s Super Lawyers®, the top five percent of attorneys in the State.
