Martha D. Lynes

Experience

Upon her admission to the New Jersey and District Court in 1989, Martha began working in the field of civil defense and quickly assumed the handling of products liability, premises liability and auto negligence matters throughout New Jersey.  During her career, she has represented clients covered under Wrap-Up Construction Policies in complex construction claims.  Martha represented New Jersey Transit and its subcontractors during the various stages of the construction of the Light Rail System in Northern New Jersey.  These actions were defended the matters under Title 59 which provides Tort immunities for public entities.

Martha successfully defended substantial construction litigation, along with premises liability actions, as was named to serve as a Committee Member on Liberty Mutual’s National Constructions Practice Group which served as a resource for attorneys who practice in the construction field across the nation.

For approximately the past eight years she had served as the designated counsel for Darden Restaurants, Inc., handling premises liability matters for Olive Garden and Red Lobster.

Martha is a 1981 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University where she majored in Sociology and a 1989 graduate of Seton Hall University School of law.  She has served on both the Hudson County Professionalism Committee and the District XII Fee Arbitration Committee.  She is the recipient of a “Professional Lawyer of the Year Award” which was presented to her by the New Jersey Commission of Professionalism in The Law in 2005.

In 2010, Martha joined Chasan Leyner & Lamparello, as of counsel.  Before joining CL&L Martha served as a civil trial attorney and managing attorney for the Law Office of Baumann, Lynes & Viscomi, House Counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.
