Experience

Jordan concentrates his practice in civil litigation; governmental law; and business transactions, and leads the firm’s real estate tax appeal department.  He also receives appointments by the New Jersey Superior Court to serve as a special master, fiscal agent and administrator in business and estate disputes.

Since joining Chasan Leyner & Lamparello, PC, in 2002, Jordan has represented individuals, municipalities, counties, public authorities, school boards, and private businesses in a range of litigation and contract matters in state and administrative law courts.  He regularly prepares specifications and contract documents for public contracts and provides counsel throughout the bidding process; presents development applications to local land use boards; prosecutes and defends special education disputes; and negotiates and drafts professional services, commercial leases and buy-sell agreements.

Among his recent client work, Jordan has defeated a petition for certification to the New Jersey Supreme Court challenging North Bergen’s sale of public land after also obtaining judgment in the township’s favor at trial and on appeal; assisted the Clifton Board of Education to obtain a Court-ordered use variance to construct a 500-student, ninth-grade-only school annex and successfully defended the variance on appeal; and obtained a temporary injunction on behalf of a commercial tenant in an action seeking the specific performance of a lease option due to the landlord’s refusal to recognize the tenant’s right to renew.

In three consecutive years, Jordan was named a Rising Star® by New Jersey Monthly Magazine, which recognizes outstanding young lawyers nominated by the publication’s Super Lawyers®, the top five percent of attorneys in the state.
