The Firm Speaks at New Jersey Bar Association 2016 Annual Meeting and Convention

Ralph J. Lamparello, Past-President of the New Jersey State Bar Association (2013-2014), moderated and spoke at a seminar entitled “Sittin’ in with the AJs: A Review of Topical Procedural and Substantive Civil Law Issues.”   The event featured a panel of Assignment Judges of the Superior Court of New Jersey - - Hon. Peter F. Bariso Jr. of Hudson, Hon. Georgia M. Curio of Cumberland/Gloucester/Salem, Hon. Yolanda Ciccone of Somerset/Hunterdon/Warren, and Hon. Travis L. Francis of Middlesex County.

In addition, Ralph gave remarks and presented the Mel Narol Diversity Award to Julien X. Neals, County Counsel for the County of Bergen.  

Both Judge Bariso and Mr. Neals are former partners of the Firm.

John L. Shahdanian II, head of the Firm’s Employment Law Department, along with Kelly Ann Bird of Gibbons PC, gave a presentation on human resource issues entitled “Employment Law for Managers: Pitfalls to Avoid.”  The seminar was attended by more than fifty attorneys and law office administrators.  Topics covered included: how to conduct a thorough and responsible internal investigation, what to do when employees take company documents, and the legal protections afforded to transgender individuals in the workplace.

The Hon. Thomas P. Olivieri was a panelist at two events, “Arbitrating Business Disputes” and “Hot Topics in Chancery and Probate”, subjects in which he has considerable experience and expertise. Judge Olivieri conducts mediations and arbitrations, and he served 10 years as the Presiding Judge of Chancery- General Equity Part and Probate Part, in Hudson County Superior Court.
