Ralph J. Lamparello received the prestigious Humanitarian Achievement Award from the Seton Hall School of Law's Peter W. Rodino Jr. Society. The Award is presented annually to commemorate the values embodied in the work and legacy of Congressman Rodino -- compassion, honor and wisdom.
Through his ongoing leadership of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Mr. Lamparello has sought to preserve judicial independence to guarantee that our courts remain a steadfast and strong guardian of our citizens’ rights, free from political interference. In recognition of the vital importance of this issue, he has recently created the State Bar Taskforce on Judicial Independence, comprised of retired jurists, lawyers, academics and members of the public. According to Mr. Lamparello, “There has been no more paramount issue facing us as a profession than the current threats to weaken our Judiciary by undermining its independence. We are and we will continue to fight to preserve its integrity and guarantee that our courts are a steadfast, independent and strong guardian for our citizens.”
Mr. Lamparello was presented with the Humanitarian Achievement Award at the Celebration of Excellence Banquet at The Newark Club on October 29, 2013.
