JORDAN S. FRIEDMAN

Jordan Friedman concentrates his practice in the areas of civil litigation, governmental, school, and construction law, as well as in business transactions. Since joining the firm in 2002, he has represented individuals, municipalities, counties, public authorities, school boards, and private businesses in a variety of litigation and contract matters by providing representation in state and administrative law courts; preparing specifications and contract documents for public contracts and providing counsel throughout the bidding process; presenting development applications to local land use boards; prosecuting and defending special education disputes; and negotiating and drafting professional services, commercial leases, and buy-sell agreements.

Jordan has also been appointed by the Superior Court of New Jersey to serve as a special master, fiscal agent, and administrator in business and estate disputes.  Most recently, Jordan has:

  • Defeated a Petition for Certification to the Supreme Court of New Jersey challenging  the Township of North Bergen's sale of public land pursuant to the Local Lands and Buildings Law, N.J.S.A. 40:11-13, et seq. after also obtaining judgment in the Township's favor at trial and on appeal
  • Assisted the Clifton Board of Education in its efforts to successfully obtain a Court-ordered use variance to construct a 500 student ninth grade only school annex facility after having its application rejected by the local zoning board on two occasions
  • Obtained a temporary injunction on behalf of a commercial tenant client in an action seeking the specific performance of a lease option, action which was necessitated by the landlord's refusal to recognize the tenant's right to renew its lease

New Jersey Monthly Magazine named Jordan to its 2007 and 2008 list of Rising Stars, which recognizes New Jersey's outstanding young lawyers. Rising Stars are nominated by the magazine's Super Lawyers, the top five percent of attorneys in the state.
