ROBERT
A. CAPPUZZO
Robert Cappuzzo concentrates his practice in insurance defense litigation, real property tax appeals, municipal defense, and civil litigation. Rob manages the PIP Department for the Firm.
Rob is active as a member of the National Arbitration Forum Advisory Council for No-Fault Disputes in the State of New Jersey. In that capacity, he is involved in the revision of the NAF's Arbitration Rules, as well as the selection and review of dispute resolution professionals who preside over no-fault PIP arbitrations.
As a lecturer for the New Jersey Defense Association on PIP issues, Rob shares a wealth of legal insight garnered from 10 years of practice specializing in the defense of PIP actions. In November of 2004, Rob participated in an NJDA lecture to discuss his strategies for the defense of PIP arbitrations involving diagnostic testing.
Rob is a member of the New Jersey Defense Association, the American Arbitration Association Advisory Council and is an Alumni of the ATLA Trial Academy and the Hudson Inn of Court.
Rob represents the Township of North Bergen in various types of litigation matters. He also represents North Bergen in Real Property Tax Appeals before the Tax Court of New Jersey and the Hudson County Board of Taxation. He has successfully defended North Bergen in many Tax Court trials.
At the University of Toledo College of Law, Rob was a member of the Law Review and served as a symposium editor for the Law Review in his final year of law school. While in law school, he was an intern for the Hon. George M. Glasser, Presiding Judge for the Sixth District Court of Appeals in Ohio. He also served as Law Clerk to the Hon. Francis P. DeStefano, Superior Court of New Jersey from 1995 to 1996.
Rob joined Chasan Leyner & Lamparello in 1996 and became a Principal in January 2003.
